About this entry

Strange creatures…

One of the mighty Komodo dragons on Komodo Island in Indonesia. They are huge. I was lucky enough to find an adult and a young one on a kill.

Then in Pench National Park, situated in Seoni and Chhindwara districts of Madhya Pradesh in India, i was on a trip to the &Beyond lodges and I was lucky (very lucky) to spot tigers.

Surely one of the most beautiful creatures on earth.

The dohar, India's rare wild dog

And I was incredibly lucky, also to spot, the dohar, India's rare wild dog

A land iguana in the Galapagos Islands

And now for some iguanas in the Galapagos...not as big as the Komodo dragons but still very impressive.

And a blue-footed booby...

...another Galapagos special.

But maybe, this is one of my most favourite creatures, the South African Midrand Giant bullfrog.

He is a fantastic parent, and will often guide his tadpoles to water in times of drought by digging a channel for them and shepherding them to safety.
