Travel Writer

 

Kate Turkington, an inveterate and intrepid traveller, writes for both South African and international travel publications, including – among many others – Africa Geographic, Sunday Independent and Cape Argus in SA, and Conde Nast in New York. She has contributed the chapters on Mpumalanga, KwaZulu-Natal, Namibia, Botswana and Swaziland to Fodor’s Southern Africa, editions 2, 3, 4 & 5.  She was lead writer in Fodor’s Complete Safari Companion published in August 2008, which she updated in 2010.

She also writes for South African Tourism www.southafrica.net . Her SA Tourism blog is www.beckon.co.za

She travels constantly and broadcasts live back to her live Sunda y night radio programme, Believe it or Not on www.702.co.za and www.capetalk.co.za  from wherever she is in the world – Halong Bay, Machu Pichu, the Rift Valley, Disneyland, Paris , Havana, Cuba, and – once, memorably – from Antarctica.
