Media Trainer

Kate Turkington has been media training for the past 15 years. She is former Director of Wits TV at the University of the Witwatersrand. She has acted as a communications consultant to the State President’s Office, the Department of Foreign Affairs, and M-Net.

Jeremy Maggs is a former co-anchor on Summit Television. He is media editor of Future Business magazine and the Financial Mail, and hosts the daily morning radio drive time show AM-Live on SAFM, and a weekend radio show dealing with the media. He was the presenter of the award-winning Who Wants to be a Millionaire as well as co-presenter of the breakfast television show am2day.

Along with Kate Turkington, Maggs is founder and director of Mediawise and has been media training for the past decade.

Together, Turkington and Maggs, both practising print and electronic media journalists, form the most experienced hands-on media skills training team in South Africa. They have clients in the entertainment industry, financial services, blue chip companies, government departments, parastatals, universities, technikons and many more. Clients include Castrol, Commutanet, Nedbank, Stanlib, Standard Bank, Gillette, Broll Property Group, Lekana, MTN Banking, CGCSA, SAB, BJM, Virgin Mobile, SAFA, Motorola, Hollard and Microsoft.
